These are the seven errors that cause most UK eVisa rejections or immigration delays. Check each one before submitting your application.
The most common questions UK applicants ask before starting.
Standard processing is 3โ5 business days. During peak periods (OctoberโJanuary) it can take 5โ7 business days. Always apply at least 10 business days before travel to allow buffer time. Do not apply more than 120 days before your intended arrival โ eVisas cannot be issued too far in advance and will be rejected.
The Tourist eVisa for UK citizens costs approximately ยฃ25 (exact amount varies slightly by exchange rate). This is paid directly on the official government portal indianvisaonline.gov.in. Any site charging significantly more is a third-party service adding their own fee on top โ you do not need them.
Yes. The India Tourist eVisa (e-TV) is typically issued as a 1-year multiple-entry visa, allowing stays of up to 90 days per visit. Some applicants receive a 30-day or 60-day single-entry version depending on their nationality and travel history. UK citizens generally receive the 1-year multiple-entry version.
Yes โ the e-Arrival Card is mandatory for all international arrivals to India since April 2026. It is a separate form from your eVisa, filed online before you fly. It collects basic arrival and health information. Skipping it causes delays at immigration. The full process is covered in your free checklist.
If your eVisa application is rejected, India's government does not refund the application fee and typically does not provide a reason. You can reapply โ but you must correct the issue first. Common fixes: resubmit with a corrected photo, fix a passport number typo, or select the correct visa category. If you're unsure why you were rejected, WhatsApp Nitin and he'll help you work through it.
