Welcome to the land of ‘Chai’ (Indian name of Tea). In this tour we will help you unfold the story of Tea in India right from where it all began during the British Raj to the modern tea industry today which brings you your favourite cup of delight. Tea Tourism is garnering many enthusiasts as it entails one to have the knowhow of what all goes into the making of tea. Starting from plucking two leaves and a bud to its satisfying tea connoisseurs all across the globe.

DAY 1
Arrival Kolkata by flight
Meeting and assistance on arrival & transfer from airport to hotel in Kolkata. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 2
In Kolkata
After breakfast; proceed for the city tour to Kolkata. The major tourist attraction to visit includes the Marble Palace, Science City, Metro Rail, Victoria Memorial, Mother Teresa Home, China Town, Rabindra Setu, and Vidyasagar Setu. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3
Kolkata - Bagdogra Airport - Darjeeling
Upon arrival at Bagdogra airport meet with our representative and leave for Darjeeling enjoying the hill drive crossing numerous hill garden. Upon reaching Darjeeling transfer to the hotel. Evening free to acclimatize the weather in Darjeeling. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 4
Darjeeling - Tea Estate
Visit to the tea factory. Take a guided tour to understand the process of tea making. End the factory visit with a tea tasting session and lots of selfie with the local people. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 5
Ulleri - Ghorepani
Today’s trek start with a steep ascend for about 2 hours and then ascend gently passing through and Banthanti, Magar villages. On the way you could see good view of Machhapuchhare or Fish Tail (6997 mts.), Hiunchuli (6441 mts.) and Annapurna South peaks (7219 mts.). later part of trek is quite easier passing through rhododendron and shadowy trees and descends gently up to the final camp. You could come across monkeys and various species of birds this day.
Total trekking time: 4-5 hrs
Overnight stay.
DAY 6
Darjeeling – Tea Factory
Enjoy morning walk in the tea garden. Later return to the Bungalow for fresh-n-up and breakfast. After breakfast leave for Happy Valley Tea Estate. It is located in the picturesque hillside with an altitude of 6,300 feet. The altitude itself is a plus point for the happy valley tea estate as most of the time the valley is in remain under cover of mountain mist which creates a unique effect on the tea plantation and offer a unique flavor to its tea. The tea garden is famous for the supreme quality of tea in Darjeeling.
Upon arrival enjoy walking through the tea garden on the gentle hill slope and have a glimpse of the tea processing. Visit to the factory and see the entire tea production process. Visit the hall where plucked tea are kept on elevated wooden beds for weathering, and also visit the glass covered area from where you can watch the remaining process of making take place. We will also get know about the different qualities of tea. The best quality comes with a single bud with two leaves; the next quality has one bud and three leaves and so on. Later in the afternoon return to Darjeeling. Rest of the day at leisure or to explore the colourful market of Darjeeling. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 7
Darjeeling
Today we will awake quite early to have the glimpse of sunrise from Tiger Hill. We will drive from the hotel around 04.00 am covering the 10 kms distance to reach the Tiger Hill. Upon reaching enjoy the panoramic views of sunrise from Mount Everest along with Kangchenjunga from the observation deck.
Later return to Darjeeling, on the way back we will visit Ghoom Monastery, was built in 1857 by Lama Sherab Gyatso. The Monastery itself follows the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, here you will find a 15 ft high statue of future Buddha.
Further return to Darjeeling via Batasia Loop. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. after fresh-n-up have breakfast at the hotel.
After a sumptuous breakfast we will have an excursion around the hill city visiting the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. It was established in 1954 and is one of the renowned mountaineering institutes of the world.
Further we will visit the P.N. Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Centre (closed on Sunday), Tea Garden (outer view) and later while returning to the hotel we will also visit the Japanese Temple. Evening free at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 8
Darjeeling / Bagdogra – Delhi
After breakfast, drive to Bagdogra to board flight for Delhi.
Upon arrival, proceed for the guided city tour of New Delhi & visit India Gate, the memorial of the First World War and the road that leads from there to President House, which is flanked by the houses of Parliament and the Government Secretariat buildings. Also visit the Qutub Minar, a Tower of Victory that was built in the 12th century by Qutbuddin Aibak.
Late in the evening, transfer back to Delhi airport to board flight for onward destination.
