Sample Itinerary

DAY 1

Arrive in Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi – Noi Bai International Airport. 

You will be met at the airport by your English speaking guide and transfer to your hotel in downtown Hanoi. Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is a beautiful city of lakes, shaded boulevards and verdant public parks. 

After check-in we will enjoy a short walk through the Old Quarter of Hanoi, where we observe the daily life of the locals on busy markets and narrow shaded streets. The Old Quarter includes 36 old streets with each name representative of the type of merchandise sold in it.

DAY 2

HA NOI CITY TOUR – LAO CAI

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is a beautiful city of lakes, shaded boulevards and verdant public parks.

In the morning we will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum & Museum, the One Pillar Pagoda and the historical Temple of Literature, the first university of Vietnam, built in 1070 in honor of Confucius. 

In the afternoon we will visit Hoan Kiem Lake (The Restored Sword Lake) and the Ngoc Son Temple, which is on an island in the northern part of the lake,  and then enjoy a Cyclo tour along the narrow streets of the ancient part of Hanoi. 

We then continue with a walking tour of the Old Quarter of Hanoi. The Old Quarter includes 36 old streets with each name representative of the type of merchandise sold in it.

In the evening we will attend a traditional Water Puppet show. This art originates from rural festivals in Vietnam. The artists – men and women – stand waist deep in the water to manipulate the puppets, making them move about, talk, laugh and even dance on the surface of the water. The audience is meant to experience the atmosphere of a village festival.

Enjoy Egg Coffee. This hard-to-find café is one of the few left in the narrow street inside the old quarter of Hanoi

Transfer to the Hanoi railway station for the night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on train.

DAY 3

LAO CAI – SAPA - FANSIPAN

Early morning arrival in Lao Cai station and enjoy breakfast. Then transferred to Sapa for check in hotel (at 14.00 pm)

Depart from Sapa town by car to Lao Chai village, following the road down the hill. Views of the Muong Hoa valley and magnificent surroundings of mountains and rice terrace fields can be seen from this road. Along the road, people from many ethnic groups (H’mong, Zay, and Red Dao) are likely to be met, and there are stalls along the way that serve tea, fruits and sweets . Then You will spend half of a day to enjoy all the beauty of Fansipan Legend.

After arriving at the station, visitors will take about 20 – 30 minutes to climb 600 more ladders to reach the top of Fansipan peak, and touch the landmark in the roof of Indochina. It is no longer a dream far away with many people as before since the cable car Fansipan was born. Beside the Fansipan peak, you can also visit the beautiful Fansipan Legend with Bamboo Garden, Bao An Thien Tu, Bich Van Thien, restaurant, shopping center, etc.

Note : Each cabling can accommodate from 30 to 35 people, the capacity of the whole system is about 2000 passengers/ hour. Sapa station is in Muong Hoa valley, the station is a 3000 meters high point and very close to Mount Fansipan. The distance between the two stations is over 1400 meters. The cable car journey is 15 minutes instead of 3-day climbing two to four days as before. The journey is not too long, but it is enough for visitors to admire the beautiful natural landscape at an altitude of thousands of meters. It is the primitive forest Hoang Lien Son, poetic Muong Hoa, the magnificent Hoang Lien Son mountain range, etc. The higher you go, the more clouds you see, the temperature will also decrease and the wind can make your cable swing a little. Do not fear. It is just a little challenge for your courage!

DAY 4

SAPA – BAC HA MARKET on Sunday - LAO CAI

Then 6h30 we departure to go to the Bac Ha market for three hours by a van. Bac Ha is one of the biggest Market on Sapa and open on Sunday only. It’s not only the trading center but it’s also the place for couples, friends and relatives. At this market every thing on sales: Pig, dog, cat, houres… so it make this market hotter on Sunday. There are 10 minority groups in the Bac Ha region. We can buy homemade handicrafts and clothes.

In the afternoon we will have a 2 hour trek to Ban Pho village (Flower H’Mong people) where we can have look in their houses and understand little more about their lifestyle and traditional customs.

And then we drive back to Lao cai Station for the night train to Hanoi.

DAY 5

HANOI – HALONG

Train arrive in Hanoi in the early morning at 5:00AM . Pick up from here to a Hotel for breafast & short rest before journey to Halong Bay . 8:00AM drive to Halong Bay (3,5 hours), a UNESCO World Heritage site. Whoever comes to Vietnam should not miss the chance to visit Halong Bay, a picturesque blend of harmonious transition between the mountains and the sea.

Halong Bay is in the Bac Bo (Tonkin) gulf and stretches over an area of 1,500 km2 with three thousand green islands that look like jewels. Upon arrival at the harbor we will embark on a junk. We will enjoy a fresh seafood lunch on the boat while experiencing the majestic beauty of Halong Bay. The junk is a wooden sailboat designed in a traditional Vietnamese style while offering a full range of modern amenities. Visit the fascinating Dau Go Cave called “The Cave of Marvels” and Thien Cung Cave, the “Heavenly Palace cave” surrounded by spectacular stalactites and stalagmites.

After dinner, enjoy fishing with local fishermen. The reflection of the limestone outcrops, the sight of fishing boats lit up in the darkness; enjoy these precious moments in one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world.

DAY 6

HALONG – HANOI

After gazing at the sunrise, you will navigate through the numerous oddly shaped limestone outcrops. Stop by a cove for a panoramic view of Halong Bay. Seafood feast on board.

Transkfer back to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi 

DAY 7

HANOI DEPARTURE

Breakfast at hotel.

Free at leisure, check out hotel at 12.00 until the time the driver pick up you at the hotel and transfer to the airport in Hanoi for departure.
